We’re sure you’re all aware of the Macmillan Coffee Morning which started back in 1990 over a slice of cake and a cup of tea! Over the years the coffee morning has raised over £138 million for Macmillan Cancer Support and it’s back with a bang this year!
This year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning is on Friday 25th September and if you’ve been watching the Great British Bake Off then you’re probably already in the baking mood so why not think about hosting your own coffee morning?
Getting involved is simple and you can sign up for your coffee morning kit here.
Here at AllClear we’re hosting a coffee morning competition meaning everyone taking part will be judged on their baking skills and we’ll all be donating to raise money for this fantastic cause.
Keep an eye out for our baked goods this Friday on Twitter!
Another big event happening this week to raise awareness and money for Cancer Research UK, is the Shine Night Walk this Saturday 26th September. Over 16,000 people took part in the Shine Night Walk in 2014 and over £4 million was raised.
The walk will start in stages throughout the evening and go on all night throughout London. The full marathon is just over 26 miles meaning it’ll go on until at least Sunday morning!
The aim is to light up the city so those taking part will be wearing bright colours, glow in the dark accessories and neon face paints throughout the walk.
If you can’t take part, there are options to volunteer at the event and of course, make a donation. For more information on how to support the event click here.
If you are taking part, you can use the hashtag #ShineWalk on Twitter throughout your walk to let people know how you’re getting on.
